2007 O.M.O.
Odd Man Out

We created the O.M.O. by pairing two very different grape varietals, an odd couple if you will, that come together seamlessly but with great complexity.  In previous vintages, the O.M.O. has been very popular with our customers and critics alike.  We are fortunate that the incredible bounty of the 2007 harvest gave us outstanding Malbec and Petite Verdot to craft this O.M.O.

This wine is a collector’s item that will give many years of drinking pleasure.  The Malbec which comes from our block at Conner Lee Vineyard provides a big, round, dark fruit “base,” while the Petite Verdot from Stillwater Creek Vineyard adds spicy, red fruit tones.  The wine is dark purple in the glass with a nose of raspberry and blueberry as well as slight notes of tea and plum.  Complex flavors of spice, fruit, leather and tea create a round, rich mouth with a perfect balance of ripe fruit and complementary acid finishing each sip.

This extremely small production wine is tasty now but optimal drinking time is 2011-2015+.  If you can’t wait to drink it, decant for an hour before serving to bring out the best of this blend.
